In terms of materials, the semiconductor materials used in solar panels have an important impact on their sensitivity to light. Silicon, one of the most commonly used materials for solar panels, has a high light absorption coefficient and low defect density, resulting in a high sensitivity to visible light. However, in the process of manufacturing silicon solar panels, a large number of processes such as high-temperature pretreatment and chemical etching are required, so its manufacturing cost is relatively high.



Compared with silicon, composite materials such as gallium arsenide (GaAs) have higher photoelectric conversion efficiency and better photostability, so they are also more sensitive to light. However, due to the cost of its materials and manufacturing processes, this type of solar panel is mainly used in high-end consumer electronics or aerospace and other fields.

In addition to silicon and gallium arsenide, there are some new materials used in the research and development of solar panels, such as perovskite, organic solar cells and so on. These materials have higher photoelectric conversion efficiency and lower cost, but are still in the laboratory stage and need further research and development.



In terms of production technology, the manufacturing process of solar panels also affects their sensitivity to light. The first step is cleaning and pretreatment, which requires the use of extremely high-purity solvents and high-temperature steam to treat the surface of the silicon wafer to ensure that the surface of the solar panel is smooth and clean. The second is to apply an anti-reflection layer, which can increase the light absorption rate of the solar cell panel, thereby increasing the output power of the solar cell panel. Finally, metal electrode manufacturing and assembly, this part includes the selection and manufacture of conductive materials such as aluminum and copper, and the optimization of the contact between electrodes and semiconductor materials, all of which have an important impact on the output performance of solar panels.
